Welcome to Chepstow Art Space
A working space for local artists and a centre for workshops in the heart of Chepstow.
Chepstow Artspace, founded by Julio Franco and Genevieve Eden, is a new workshop space in the heart of Chepstow. This independent centre offers a range of arts and crafts activities for the local community. It aims to provide a variety of unique workshops and classes throughout the year, perfect for both beginners and experienced creators alike.
The workshops cover diverse themes, including wood carving, stained glass, pattern cutting, printing, pottery, creative writing, painting, and jewellery making. Each class is designed to help participants explore new techniques in a friendly and supportive environment. Chepstow Artspace encourages creativity in a way that everyone can enjoy.
Julio Franco runs a fully equipped carpenter’s workshop within the space. He will be accepting commissions for custom woodworking projects. This gives visitors a chance to witness high-quality craftsmanship and even order bespoke pieces.
The building also houses four separate units for resident artists. These studios provide dedicated spaces for local artists to work, create, and showcase their art. With a variety of workshops, resident artists, and Julio’s carpentry studio, Chepstow Artspace has become a vibrant place for artistic expression. It plays a key role in enhancing the arts scene in Chepstow and beyond.
We are creating a beautiful space that will nurture your creativity and provide a relaxing and inspiring atmosphere for people to connect, play and learn together. We look forward to seeing this building, the “Old Library”, come back to life and become a valued asset to Chepstow. – Genevieve Eden
